Strange figure, I do not know where it is coming from. Most probably brought from China in 50-s. 4.4 cm high.

With a strong needle, using enough pressure to make
a 3-4 mm scratch, it has to be black or white. Then tell us which color that tiny scratch is. . it may be a Jade carving.

You are right. Looks like monkey. I scratched it. White scratch.

Monkey is made from Serpentine, which is harder than soapstone, but softer than Jade. place it in a nice spot where it can rest, and it will look well after you. Expect good things to happen
