Subject:Old Japanese/Chinese bronze vase inscription

Hello everyone,

I have in my collection this old bronze vase. No idea if it's Japanese or Chinese although I believe it was bought in Japan.

Underneath, painted in gold, is this inscription.

The text was very faded so I've had to edit the photos so as to make them legible. As a result, the colors are altered. It's actually a very dark brown/green.

Any help translating would be appreciated.
