Subject:Small jug and bowl with chinese reign marks
Posted By: Clara Mon, Feb 17, 2020 IP: 178.19.229.59

Hello, My grandmother gave these two pieces to me. A small jug and a bowl (maybe for sugar?), probably tin, that have reign marks at the bottom, which look to me like the symbols used to describe chinese emperors (given its only a two-character mark). I couldn't find anything about the second mark, but I think the first one could stand for the 德 = 'de' from some Ming Dynasty reign marks I found online. I am completely new to all of this, so it would be great if someone could help me find out more about it. Thank you in advance.

This is a maker's marking and reads,
徳聚 - Deju
This word is frequently seen in company names, roughly translates "accumulate virtues"

With regards,
I.Nagy
