In my opinion, this 'Sancai' (three color) bowl or jardinière most likely is Chinese from the Foshan kilns in the Guangzhou (former Canton) suburbs, in Guangdong Province. I believe a fish bowl would have been in porcelain, whereas this appears to be pottery. It may be Republic period (1912-49) or a bit earlier.
