Subject:2 foot diameter Japanese plate flea market find
Posted By: Dennis Mon, Sep 02, 2019 IP: 107.202.69.204

I picked this rather large Japanese plate up at the flea market and I don't know anything about it other than possibly being Japanese. There is a stamp on the back with Kanji and the only one that I was able to decipher was one that translated into Flower or Flowering. I was wondering how old this piece was and what the rear stamp translated to. Thanks in advance for your help.

I think the plate is Chinese
Marking on the bottom reads,
花開富貴 - Huakai fugui - Flowering and wealth
Refers to one of the traditional Chinese auspicious patterns.

With regards,
