This was not made of either nephrite or jadeite, most likely made of xi yu, a type of serpentine.

The figure posted is not nephrite jade in my opinion.
Judging purely on posted pictures, it would appear a translucent light green colour associated with bowenite.
Bowenite/serpentine is often sold as 'jade'.
IMO your posting dates to the later 20th century.
Still a decorative item. Enjoy!
