Subject:Miniature shoe Tao-Kuang Daoguang
Posted By: Jon Fri, Mar 08, 2019 IP: 92.29.229.84

Thanks for looking. The mark appears to be Tao-Kuang Daoguang and there is a (silver ?) makers mark on the sole. It is approx 12 cms in length.
Any information appreciated. Thank you

A faux Daoguang mark on a low-grade silver-clad decorative shoe dating to circa the mid-to-third quarter of the 20th century. I've seen some less ornate metal-clad Chinese porcelains that were done in Hong Kong. Your shoe could have been done there, on the Mainland or elsewhere.

Here's a link for a forum thread from a couple of years ago concerning similar items, including the teapot of mine shown below.

Best regards,

Bill H.
