This piece got my attention with it's bright colour and unusual theme. Any info on the origin? Thank you.

Here's a link to an auction result for a mid-century Japanese Kutani bowl or vase in a similar pattern by the same artist, who is identified as "Hideyama or Shuusan" (also seen as "Shusan"). Japanese experts in the forum may be able to sort out the name with greater accuracy.

Best regards,

Bill H.

The mark is: Shuzan 秀山 - Kutani 九谷.
The mark is post World War 2.
Go to this site: https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/
There are more items with this mark to see by typing in the 4 Japanese characters to search.
Regards,
Martin.
