What you have is a transfer printed Japanese bowl possible dating from late Meiji period. Translation could be (not complete) "Dai Nippon … Tokusei Tsukuru".

Arjan gave me just the push I needed to figure out this mark..
I think the mark is saying:
Dai Nippon 大日本 Sentoku 千徳 Sei 製 To 陶 Kaisha 會社 Zo 造
(= Great Japan - made by Sentoku - made by the pottery company).
However, I'm still not sure about the second character of Sentoku : 徳, but I could not find an alternative.
Regards,
Martin.

Thanks for the translation. I think this bowl is Seto Ware. The Sei to combined makes sense and if you look at others from the Seto collection, the mark is very similar along with the way the footrim is designed.

Thanks to all efforts!

I would read the second character 種
千種 - Chikusa or Chigusa

I.Nagy

I.Nagy is spot on, as a I wrote before, I was not sure about this character. The name is most probably Chikusa. The earliest Chikusa mark I have is in English: Chikusa - Nippon - Hand Painted, which date my mark before 1921. Yours with "Dai Nippon" is about 1890-1910.

Martin.
