Posted By: Rod Thompson Thu, Jul 26, 2018 Thanks for the translation. I think this bowl is Seto Ware. The Sei to combined makes sense and if you look at others from the Seto collection, the mark is very similar along with the way the footrim is designed. |

Posted By: Martin Michels Sun, Jul 29, 2018 I.Nagy is spot on, as a I wrote before, I was not sure about this character. The name is most probably Chikusa. The earliest Chikusa mark I have is in English: Chikusa - Nippon - Hand Painted, which date my mark before 1921. Yours with "Dai Nippon" is about 1890-1910. |
