Subject:Need help identifying Chinese mark on ginger jar
Posted By: RFM Sat, Jul 14, 2018 IP: 2601:281:c202:b68a:d

Greetings,
Request any information on the mark on this little ginger jar. Two characters are very difficult to read. Maybe a Hongxian mark?
thank you in advance!

I believe this is a distorted apocryphal mark of "Made during the Qianlong Reign - (乾隆年製 - Qianlong nian zhi). Actual date, circa late Republic - mid-century (1940s-1950s, give or take a few years). Here are images of a similar jar with better-defined Qianlong mark.
Best regards,

Bill H.
