An impressive pair of gilt copper repousse temple architectural panels depicting male and female angels offering garlands. The winged angels gaze with wide eyes at the onlooker, their lower garments (dhotis) billowing as in flight. The female is 15 7/8" (40cm) high x 11" (28cm) wide while the male is 15 3/4" (39.5cm) high x 10 1/2" (26.5cm) wide. Detail: close-up view |
