This vigorous small painting appears to depict a form of Yama, shown in union with a consort in a lighter shade of red, the couple trampling on Yama's vehicle, the Bull. The god holds his emblem, the danda or staff with a skull finial. The drawing of the figures shows several of the characteristics typical of Western Tibetan painting - the vigorous lunging bodies, writhing scarves and the upflung hair of the god. The painting retains its simple silk surrounds.
