Above the spout is the Great Protector Narashima, half lion/half man avatar of Vishnu, tearing apart the demon Hiranyakashipu on his lap. The spout is supported by Garuda and two attendant figures, one male and one female. Atop the intricate Makara handle sits Shiva on his mount, Nandi. The handle of the spoon depicts Mahasiddha Kukuripa, sitting on a moon disk with a lotus base.
