This Japanese woodblock print is titled
"Kiritsubo, No. 1" from the series "Murasaki Shikibu's Genji Cards" (Murasaki Shikibu Genji karuta).

It was created by the artist Utagawa Kunisada II (also known as Kunimasa III or Toyokuni IV) in 1857. The scene depicts a moment from the first chapter of the classic Japanese novel, The Tale of Genji.
