Message 1. Look for nails, screws, anything metal aside from the door pulls 2. Look at the joints (corners) and how pieces are attached to each other 3. Look at the paint job especially for brushmarks, and the dark outlining around the door front face -- was it stained? Painted? Bled through? Is it on everything else including interior or is it just merely found there on the door 4. Look at the interior and for any marks on the top/bottom/sides from the door scraping due to opening/closing, and how the doors work and swivel open 5. Look at the top and bottom panels including interiors (underside of shelves etc) for any stamps, marks, stickers etc Its easy to differentiate modern furniture from traditional authentic handmade furniture if you are looking for Ming, Tang or Qing Dynasty furniture Post a Response |
