舉杯邀明月 對影成三人
月既不解飲 影徒隋我身
暫伴月将影 引
呉玉瑛
I raise a cup and invite the harvest moon to drink with me,
so we are three with the shadow,
But the moon does not understand drinking anyway,
and the shadow just follows me,

The inscription is a citation from the Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai's poem titled "Drinking Alone under the Moon - One of Four Poems"
(月下獨酌四首・其一  唐 李白)
