Message Info found via Google indicates the following: The two character mark in the oval cartouche reads "Atsuyoshi saku" (厚義作 - Atsuyoshi made) and the one below it is "Maruki Shaku Seisaku (丸喜社制作) - Maruki Shaku Produced). The Maruki company is well known for the quality and weight of their okimonos and for producing excellent bronzes of animals, they are considered as one of the finest producers of bronzes. Meiji period second half 19th century. Best regards, Bill H. Link :Sothebys auction Atsuyoshi Post a Response |
