Re: Writing on porcelain figure |

Message The mark reads down and across from the top right as 'Fujian Association' (Fu jian Hui guan - 福建會館 - aka 'Fujian Club' and 'Fujian Guild'). This was the name adopted by a group of porcelain modelers working under Master modeler and Fujian Province native You Changzi (游長子) in China's principal porcelain center at Jingdezhen during the early 20th century. This mark has been widely used on modern fakes that are much inferior to authentic examples of this acclaimed group's work. Best regards, Bill H. Post a Response |
