Subject:three hand-embroidered silk panels
Posted By: Toa Van der Veken Mon, Mar 24, 2025 IP: 81.164.150.130

Hello everyone,

I recently inherited these three hand-embroidered silk panels from my grandmother. They depict birds and trees, and each piece has Chinese characters in the lower right corner. The embroidery is highly detailed, and the panels are approximately 1 meter in height. The frames show signs of age, but I’m unsure of their exact origin or time period.

I would love to learn more about:

The possible age and origin of these artworks.

The meaning of the Chinese characters (if anyone can translate them).

An estimated value, as I am curious if they are considered collectible pieces.

Any insights or expert opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

They are Korean.
Inscription,
Picture No.2
뻐국새 Cuckoo - name of bird

The Hangul characters written on each panel are too far to read and are probably the names of each bird.

With regards,
I.Nagy
