Subject:Re: Identify interpret Marks on teapot
Posted By: plasticman Fri, Sep 15, 2023 I have responded to this query on the message board. Additionally, this modern take on a period armorial piece probably is, at least partially, based on the arms of the Dutch family Sichterman that had a squirrel as a crest symbol.Again, the lid, the spout and handle are not correct in shape. The enamels are modern and the loose brushwork is not close to 18th century quality. For those who read my note on the message board,I beg your forgiveness, but it was posted in both places. |
