Subject:Painting of the Xuande Emperor in a palanquin
Posted By: Cherdak Fri, Mar 10, 2023 IP: 2a03:d000:6501:f850: Hello to all forum members. Who knows where this painting is? And what is the jade item on the Xuande Emperor's belt? |

I believe the item on his belt likely is a jade buckle that keeps his robe closed. |

Posted By: Cherdak Thu, Mar 16, 2023 This is just a figurine, not a buckle. And there is no such jade. Therefore, there are no analogues. |

Posted By: Bill H Fri, Mar 17, 2023 If you checked the auction site, you hopefully saw that this piece was described as a "Toggle", which among other definitions can be a connector between two ends of a belt or strap. But since you seem to be the expert here, I'll just bow out of this conservation gracefully and assume a comfy recumbent position on my bed for a nap. |
