Subject:Guangxu Period Antique Chinese Porcelain Bowl ?

Any help with identifying this bowl would be greatly appreciated. With the "CHINA" stamp I'm guessing that it's not very old. MANY THANKS FOR WHATEVER INPUT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO PROVIDE!

The seal mark is that of Jiangqing 1796-1820.
The addition of 'China'was a requirement under US import law requiring place of manufacturing. This was invoked in about 1880-1920. After about 1920 you would often see 'made in China ' stamped.
It's a very nice bowl. Beautifully decorated and in my opinion it's from the Guangxu period. So late 19th Century.

Dear All
The N of CHINA is reversed so for me this dates it to 1894 / 85. At the beginning of the order to mark ceramics with CHINA many were stamped incorrectly. I have a piece with the N reversed.

Your assumption is correct, probably dates to the late Qing-early Republic period, circa 1900-1925. The apocryphal mark reads "Made during the Jiaqing reign of the Great Qing Dynasty" (Da qing Jiaqing nian zhi - 大清嘉慶年製). Marks of "CHINA" were required by the McKinley Tariff Act passed by the American Congress in October 1890, requiring point of origin markings on trade goods by all foreign exporters to the USA. In 1914, the Congress passed a truth in labeling act further requiring addition of the wording "Made in", but the new provision seem to have not been enforced until the end of World War I in 1918.

Chinese items that were to be imported into the US was required to be marked with the word "CHINA" as the country of origin (U.S. Stamp Act of 1894).
