Posted By: Bill H Sat, Jan 07, 2023 Beneath the circled cross, the characters read "Satsuma" (薩摩). Website gotheborg.com shows an example of a similar mark on crackleware but without borders that dates to the early post-World War II era. I have what may be something suitable for comparison in an unmarked Satsuma teapot with very similar crackle. It probably is at least Meiji period but definitely pre-WW II. |
