Subject:Vase - Chinese or Japanese ?
Posted By: Peter Sun, Jan 01, 2023 IP: 178.115.61.192

Some time ago, I was informed that a vase I own is likely to be a 19th Century Qing example.
However, after researching similar bottle vases on the net, certain features of my vase lend me to suspect that my vase may possibly be a Japanese Arita example.

I'd be very grateful to hear the opinion of the more experienced members of the Forum. All help will be gratefully appreciated.

And a happy New Year to all members !

I'd go with Arita origins. Not a vase but a sake dispenser called "tokkuri", the difference being the rounded lip for dripless pouring. I've seen similar forms attributed to Korean manufacture.

Have a hopping good Year of the Rabbit,

Bill H.

Might anyone be able to suggest the approximate age of this vase/bottle ?

Many thanks indeed !
