It is Indian.

Not Chinese but probably a Hindu votive figure for household worship, perhaps of Lord Krishna as a child.

My first thought was that it is Balakrishna (Infant Krishna) but the big thumb is very strange and the head decoration is also very strange. But maybe you are right. Many Thanks

Here are a couple of views of another Hindu bronze votive image I also take to be the baby Krishna. It measures 4⅞ in. tall. I think I bought this in a eBay auction many years ago to go with some other Indian arts I found in Burma (Myanmar), which was the westernmost province of India under British Colonial rule.
