This print is described in online art sales/auction outlets as one of three vintage “Shibaraku” prints by Sadanobu Hasegawa III published by Uchida. "Shibaraku" is a famous kabuki play. Uchida Publishing was founded in 1919 and is still active.

I'm sure the serious woodblock collectors among us will have more to say.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Lot 54C: Sadanobu Hasegawa III (1881-1963), THREE VIEWS OF SHIBARARKU, 20.3" x 12.6" - 51.5 x 32 cm. (3 Pieces)

Thanks, Bill.
It is exciting for me to know about this woodblock print.
I purchased it in 1970 when I was 19 years old and it has been in the same home made frame and mat all those years.
I only recently removed it so as to have a high resolution (2400dpi) scan made.

I remember some paper with it that stated the title was "Wait on moment!"
Can this be verified?

Mike

I just found this information about why the woodblock print was entitled "Wait one moment".
