Subject:Chinese Bowl wit spout: subject, dating and inscription help needet please

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for the great platform and community for exploring Asian art. I recently acquired a Chinese (?) bowl with spout with an unusual decoration. I was able to determine that the shrimp in the mirror is homophonic with the Chinese word for laughter and therefore associated with liveliness and happiness. But what is the role of the three scholars in the cavetto? Is this based on a Chinese tale or do the three have a deeper symbolism and a specific connection with the shrimp? Can anyone read what is written in Kaishu script on the scroll held by one of the scholars? Does anyone have any ideas about the mark that can be seen on the floor covered in brown engobe? (maybe @I.Nagy ?) What are objects like these used for; i.e. what is the function of the spout? Is this an export object made for European usage? And how would you guys date it? I would appreciate any help and your general ideas.

Best regards

Madria

Appears to be a Japanese bowl from the decoration.

Best regards,

Thank you, Bill H.
That would be a Katakuchi / Chawan for pouring tee then? Does anyone has an idea on the kiln site or the dating or even the exact type of dish this is? And as said above, I would appreciate help with the inscriptions and marks as well. Many thanks and please let me know if you guys have any further information.

Regards Madria
