Subject:Unusual Chinese Dish
Posted By: Peter Sat, Aug 27, 2022 IP: 178.165.183.83 I have acquired this Chinese trefoil-type dish and would be grateful to learn it's approximate age. |

Posted By: Bill H Sat, Aug 27, 2022 This is called a "Bat Bowl" for its triangular wingeg-like shape. The uneven turquoise enamel on the base suggests an early 20th century or somewhat later date to me. I've shown views of another one below in the "Wushuangpu" (myths & legends) pattern which I believe its safe to call definitely of the Guangxu era (1875-1908). The export approval seal on it is hard to read at but may have been appled by the Shanghai No. 4 Bureau. |
