Hello,

Moving on now to organic materials. Already posted one rat cluster netsuke with the tobacco pouch sagemono I am trying to date (link below), so thought I'd follow with another.

Any assistance in identifying the artist or estimating the age of this piece would be warmly and sincerely appreciated, and once again I thank you all in advance for the same.

Suggest you repost the netsukes for attention of I.Nagy, who knows Japanese forward and backwards. Meanwhile see the link herewith for other forum info about the probable Japanese inspiration behind your cats and their clones made in China.

Thank you as well for the additional information re: Imari cats - it never fails to amaze me how deep each silo can go within a given category of art.
