Hello Chris,
I've been studying antique Japanese marks since my retirement 11 years ago and always try to find out more of every new artist that I come across. In this case there were hardly any resources about this Ariyama / Yuzan.
But to help you on your way to decipher Japanese names on ceramics, you might use these links to
to make a start:
- Assembling Kanji characters: https://jisho.org/#radical
- Find out Japanese names: https://jisho.org/search/梅月
(replace the 2 Kanji with the ones you like to research).
Japanese names are a bit tricky, there is the native Japanese pronouncing of a name (KUN-reading p.e. Ariyama) and the Sino-Japanese pronouncing (ON-reading p.e. Yuzan). And it's not always clear which is the correct name. Artist names and first names tend to be Sino-Japanese, family names / surnames are usually native Japanese.
Good luck.
Regards,
Martin.
