Subject:Chinese porcelain seal
Posted By: Shaikesh Sat, May 28, 2022 IP: 2600:1700:37a0:5d60: I need help with some seals on some Chinese porcelain I have. Can anyone identify the signature. Hopefully I took the pictures in the right orientation. If I have not you can rotate them. Thanks in advance for all your help. |

Posted By: Bill H Sun, May 29, 2022 The first two are 'Da Qing Tong Zhi nian zhi' (大清同治年製) 'Made during the Tongzhi Reign of the Great Qing Dynasty' and the third one, shown upside down, is 'Da Qing Qian Long nian zhi' (大清乾隆年製) 'Made during the Qianlong Reign of the Great Qing Dynasty'. The Tongzhi Emperor Ruled from 1862-74 and Qianlong from 1736-95, at which point he stepped down as the ruler as an act of filial piety so as not to rule longer than his grandfather, the Kangxi Emperor (1622-1722) who was on the throne a record 60 years. |
