Posted By: Brett Mon, Apr 25, 2022 IP: 69.117.76.135 Just curious what this mark says. I breezed through gotheborg, but couldn't find it. Anyone know? Thanks for the help as always. |

Similar examples of the same scribbled mark are found in the scholarly Mainland China book, “Collection of Classical Markings on Chinese Historical Porcelains” (Zhongguo lidai taoci kuanzhi dadian - 中国历代陶瓷款识大典). |

Posted By: Bill H Tue, Apr 26, 2022 An example of a Jiaqing period mark on a six-inch plate with bamboo cipher reserves on a turquoise ground with what appears to be longevity fungus designs. In addition to the underglaze blue mark, the base of this one has two characters probably incised by the original owner, 兴 an olden form of Xing at its left, a surname but also means 'Prosperity'. Below the mark are two stacked characters, 准又 (zhunyou), which signify an impending marriage. |
