Posted By: Bill H Sat, Jan 15, 2022 The pictures of your square censer show a pastiche of features meant to suggest designs found on some Shang and later Chinese bronze-culture vessels. The results of the effort are so grotesque as to suggest the piece wasn't made in China but perhaps Thailand or elsewhere in Southeast Asia. |

Posted By: robert Sun, Jan 16, 2022 Your rectangular bronze is a modern imitation of the famous Da He fangding (大禾方鼎), an ancient Chinese bronze ding vessel from the late Shang dynasty unearthed in Tanheli, Ningxiang, Hunan in 1959. The original is on display in the Hunan Museum (information from Wikiwand). |
