Posted By: Peter Tue, Jan 04, 2022 IP: 178.165.191.219

Hello.
Would anyone be able to identify the likely origin of this wall plate / charger ?
Also, it's approximate age would also be very much appreciated.

Thanks !!!

The images are blurry. However, it's a Japanese plate and from the 1st half of the 20th century.

Hi Peter,

To my limited knowledge your plate looks to be 19th century Chinese. My pet issue however and main reason for responding are the metal hooks used to hang plates. I see them as potentially damaging to the rim and prefer to see a nice piece on a stand.

Someone more knowledgeable should come along with more information on the piece. A closeup of the mark would help.

The comments stating that it could be chinese is totally incorrect!
It's a typical Japanese arita plate. Please note the outer blue circle on the base near the footrim.
The images are blurry. It's date is highly probable to be circa 1920's. Possibly a little bit later.
If it was earlier from say the Meiji period it would in all probability have spur marks.
