Subject:Poem on antique Ki-Seto tea bowl
Posted By: Axel Tue, Nov 16, 2021 IP: 2001:1c03:5b13:7100:

Good day,

I was hoping to receive help with the translation of a poem carved on an old Ki-Seto teabowl by Sosetsu Kato.

I've tried my best to make good clear pictures but realize it may be a long shot. Thanks in advance regardless of what comes out of it.

Axel

From the pictures it is almost impossible to decipher the text.
I recommend you to take a wet rubbing of the inscriptions on the surface.
Put a piece of hand made paper on the surface of cup, moisten it with water (water spray, wet towel or a wet brush so that the paper sticks to the surface of cup) and tap it with a rolled cotton soaked with ink to copy the convex parts.

With regards,
I.Nagy
