Subject:What is this?
Posted By: Jim G Mon, Nov 08, 2021 IP: 108.176.126.186

Does anyone know what this is? A small cardboard box with the rolled image inside.

I think it is from the 1950's

Could it have been a utensil/placemat given to restaurant customers?

Inscription of the printed wrapping paper (Noshi);
粗品 - Soshina - Token gift (from)
青森県知事 - Aomori-ken chiji - Aomori Prefecture Governor
岩崎岩男  - Iwasaki Iwao

The print depicting warriors inside the box, probably was a token gift to supoorters (voters)

Yamazaki Iwao 1901-1964
Politician (LDP) Served as prefectural governor of Aomori Prefecure between 1956-1963 (Japanese language Wikipedia)

With regards,
