Subject:Interesting piece, Requesting help to identify period and kanji
Posted By: painterbri Thu, Jul 08, 2021 IP: 70.51.214.70

Hello,
I found this forum while researching an antique bowl that has been in the family for approx. 100 years. It may be older than that.
Any assistance much appreciated. The two kanji symbols are repeated on the four sections of the outer bowl. No maker marks on the bottom. I have many photos but will upload three.
Thanks in advance!

The two characters repeated 75 times each are 福 and 壽, Good Luck and Long Life, written in a form of seal script.

Usually, these characters are repeated 100 times.

Thank you for your gracious input Mike.

I have been trying to figure this out for days using Japanese Kanji dictionaries....

If you or other forum members have further information about this piece, please feel free to share your wisdom.

Humble gratitude,
Brian
