Subject:Opinion whether it's woodblock print or ink-watercolour paint and possible type of paper
Posted By: Jack Mon, Jun 07, 2021 IP: 49.245.34.127

I have this album of painting by Qi Baishi (similar to those of Rong Bao Zhai). I have done some comparison but am still not certain if the painting is painted or printed. The type of paper used seems to be rice paper yet it is hard like those 135 gsm drawing block paper. I use a LED desk lamp to shine through the front and back of the paper but still not able to determine the artwork is woodblock or woodcut print or painting. Can anyone shed a light on this?

seems painted to me, likely an imitation of Qi's work though.
