Subject:Maker of Japanese Celadon vase
Posted By: Axel Mon, Apr 05, 2021 IP: 2001:1c03:5b10:900:7

Hello,

After several hours searching i failed to find the maker of this celadon vase. The box signature near the red stamp is maybe Tadashi(? - i am not sure).

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Axel

靑瓷 - Seiji - Celadon
花入 - Hanaire - Flower vase
Signature and seal,
隆 - Ryū (Sino-Japanese reading) or Takashi (Japanese reading)

With regards,
I.Nagy

Thank you very much. I have tried to find a different item by this maker (searching for name + celadon), but that was unsuccessful.

Anyone one know this potter?

Thank you in advance,

Looks to me like the signature of Kitamura Takashi (1946-now?), a Kutani artist, see my picture.
So perhaps you can compare your vase with some of Takashi makings. There are some of his products on Ebay, search with "Takashi Kitamura".
Regards,
Martin.

That appears to be a match, although I don't see any other celadon by him. Thank you very much!

Are you sure that it is Japanese? In my opinion it's
quite possible that it is Korean.
In that case the signature and seal read; Ryung (Yung)

Thank you for your reply. I suppose I am unsure, it was listed as a japanese item but I am not sure. I will try a search with the korean spelling tonight. Thank you!

Using a search for the character: 隆 brought up the following name:
Uematsu Takashi 植松隆

This is apparently a Japanese potter but i can't confirm whether other aspects confirm or deny this.

A couple of other names popped up but i can't connect to some of the pages. To conclude, i have to do some more searching. Thank you for the help provided already!
