Subject:20th Century Vase ?
Posted By: Dave H Fri, Apr 02, 2021 IP: 104.200.132.215

The closest I could find to the mark on the bottom is 20th century ( 1970's - 1990's ). Can anyone confirm this? A seal mark from 150 years ago can still be used today and some times I find it tricky to try and get a close date of a piece. Thanks for your help....

The reign mark, zhuanshu archaic seal script, on your vase translates to "Da Qing Daoguang Nian Zhi", or ‘Made in the Great Qing Dynasty during the reign of the Daoguang Emperor', 1821-50. Better photos would help with dating this vase.

Thank you both Jeff and Deep for your input. As per your suggestion I have added 3 sets of pictures, hopefully these will help to date the piece.
Thanks again .........

I think this might be Republic Period, maybe 1930s-1940s. If so, still a very desirable piece. Could also push into early PRC.

I am no expert with this, but I wonder if the number 24 80 310 is a serial number of copies.

You had me going there Ernest then I noticed you are referring to the picture Deep posted. From what I have seen marks like that on the bottoms have been either auction or collection marks.
Thanks for your input .....

That is an image from Met museum NY. I made a collection of images of their collections.

That explains the collection ID number on the bottom. Smart idea to have a good data base for reference...
