Subject:Japanese ink drawing info
Posted By: Linda Thu, Apr 01, 2021 IP: 78.147.54.123

Hi,
Help has been given to me through the ukiyo-e Q&A site that this drawing is of the sumo wrestler Takaragawa Ishigorō. Does anybody known what the other pieces of script say and what year the date seals indicate?
Thanks
Linda

The guys from "Sumo Reference" read the wrestler's name as Takaragawa Ishigorō (寶/宝川石五郎).

Dear Horst,
You are right, of course it reads Takaragawa
Sometimes, I am absentminded.
