The mark reads: Dai Nippon Matsumura ę¾ę Zo (or Tsukuru), so "made by Matsumura", with a sloppy written Matsumura name, which is normal on Matsumura marks.
Matsumura Kusuke 1st (1844-1912). In 1878 Kusuke founded the Kaiyosha, a store in Yokohama handling ceramics for overseas export (signed with Kaiyosha), which was dissolved in 1885. Next Kusuke started his own porcelain factories in Aichi and Kobe. Wares from these factories bear the name Matsumura.
So the date of your jar is somewhere between 1885 and 1912.
Regards,
Martin.
