Subject:Japanese ink painting

My wife inherited this painting. She has very little information about its origin, other than it being in the family for several generations.

The piece is about two feet across. The medium is paint (not wood print) on cloth.

I've included the signature and seal. Any information about its creator period of creation would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Matsuda Suigai 松田翠崖　1804-1862
Served the Ikeda clan, lords of the Ikusaka Domain in Bitchū (Okayama Prefecture). Specialized in landscape and flower-and-bird paintings.

I found online an another painting of a tiger that he had painted.
