Good morning,

Any help identifying the artist or foundry of this Bronze vase would be much appreciated.

It is 14 inches tall and weighs 12.2 pounds.

Believe it to be late Taisho or early Showa period. Perhaps Takaoka foundry?

I read the bottom mark,
島左造之　Shimasa kore wo tsukuru - Shimasa made this

It is highly likely that the name “Shimasa” was used as a family name or artistic pseudonym by artisans, workshops, and artists associated with Takaoka copperware (Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture) and other related crafts from late Taishō to early Shōwa periods.
