The wooden statue shown in the picture is a seated statue of 不動明王 Fudō Myōō (Acāla-nātha), a deity of great importance in Esoteric Buddhism.
In his right hand, he holds the “Sword of Wisdom”
In his left hand, he holds a thick rope (a noose) used to bind evil and rescue sentient beings from drowning.
Behind the statue is depicted a background of fiercely blazing flames, the flames of the “Fire Samadhi” emitted by Fudō Myōō himself, which purify all sins and impurities.
The statue closely matches the style of Buddhist statues created at influential regional temples from the Muromachi period through the early Edo period.
As of the name engraved, I read it
智殿 Chiden Hall of Widom
It is highly likely that this is the name of the Hall in a unknown temple where the statue was housed originally.
