Subject:Poem. China.
Posted By: Stanislav Wed, Apr 29, 2026 IP: 178.177.223.227

Greetings everyone. Could you please help me understand what's written? It seems to be from Mao Zedong... but is that accurate? I'd appreciate any help.

Most likely a copy of one of the manuscripts of Mao Zedong’s 10 most famous poems. The title of the poem appears in parentheses at the very end of the second-to-last line and last line. (沁园春) 雪 - Qinyuanchun - Snow
Signature,
毛澤東 - Mao Zedong
That's quite unnecessary to add but compared to the official version available online, a four-character section is missing from this manuscript version.

This is not Mao's handwriting, which is quite distinctive: https://tinyurl.com/bdcnnwx2

The reading of the fancy seal impression applied upside down: 平貞正印 Seal of Taira no Sadamasa - who is regarded in Japanese history as the presumed son of a 12th-century historical figure.
In other words, this seal has nothing to do with the copy of Mao Zedong’s poem.
