Subject:Mark on Japanese Bronze Vases
Posted By: Victor Martinez Thu, Mar 27, 2025 IP: 75.146.247.209

Hello- I have a pair of mixed metal bronze vases, with identical markings. I'm wondering if anyone can translate the marks. Are they for an artist or a workshop? All I can read is the zo mark.
Thanks in advance

一光堂 Ikkōdō
宮部造 Miyabe-zō

Miyabe Atsuyoshi (宮部篤良) was a master bronze smith who lived in Kyōto. He exhibited domestically and internationally at the turn of the twentieth century and at the World’s Fair in St. Louis in 1904.

With regards,
