Subject:Mothers Japanese Jewlery boxes
Posted By: mark scott Fri, Jan 17, 2025 IP: 203.109.220.202

These were my now dead mothers Jewlery boxes. I remember them from when I was a child in the 70s in New Zealand. Very nicely made. A bit rough have saved a few parts. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Good evening.

This 19th century chinese box, was used in domestic context. You can cleary see the "pan chang" new year chinese knot for lucky.

Here in Brazil a similar object was sold in a auction house.
