Hey guys... thanks in advance. came across this guy and looking for someone to transate the mark. I found a few extremely identical examples online and one stating Qianlong period (18th). Some how in person I just dont feel that. Its on a large floor bowl with bird decoration (photos attached)

You are right, John, the stamped mark in seal script reads da qing qianlong nian zhi (great qing dynasty qianlong reign made). This is the most common mark on all chinese porcelain and is avidly used today by forgers and for decorative purposes alike.

Your famille noire planter / fish bowl is a 20th century piece. There a counless modern examples in this style in varying degrees of quality. You can search them online and compare them with yours. The decor of your item is decent enough, but the style of the decoration, the shape of the vessel and the colours do not match historic / authentic ones.

Sorry to perhaps disappoint you.

With kind regards

Madria
