Subject:Re: Early (?) Chinese B&W Eggshell Porcelain Tea Cup & Saucer (cup with handle)

Many thanks for your help...
As in my first attempt at posting this that I somehow posted without images; I was certain it was transfer decorated, if however my knowledge of English China carries over, it is of earlier, better quality than many, using several different transfers to achieve the image (as can be seen with the faces vs the clothing).
The main thing that had made me think Chinese was the dress of the figures, to my eye it appears to be Ming Style robes, often seen in later Chinese & European ceramic decorations.
I had also noted that the handle was moulded to resemble bamboo (with knots).
What had really thrown me off, in fact had me thinking it may even be European was the border, it didn't look Asian at all. Not Chinese or Japanese, a mish-mash really.
**Would you happen to know around what period transfer decoration became more commonplace on Chinese porcelain? I would think early to mid 19th Century though I have nothing to base this assumption on!
